James A. Garfield was the 20th President of the United States. His religion was known as Disciples of Christ and he was a public official, Republican, and teacher. Garfield was able simultaneously write Latin with one hand and Greek with the other. He was 6ft tall and 185 lbs when he was elected. He was shot by Leon F. Guiteau on July 2, 1881 and was fed rectally after he was shot. He died 80 days later and served as President only 6 months.
